Conservatory Auditions

Adjunct Lecturer, Voice.

Monica Harte has performed more than 25 coloratura roles in the standard operatic repertoire as well as many world premieres, and has sung numerous concerts throughout North America and Europe. La Nouvelle Republique & Centre Presse described Ms. Harte as "an unusually endearing performer," while the Reno Gazette Journal said she "stopped the show with her delightfully absurd portrayal of Olympia."

This last spring, Monica was invited to perform as guest artist for Kansas University's Faculty Concert Series, The Natchez Festival of Music, the Bechstein Center Concert Series, The Intermedia Arts Group, and the Composer's Voice Series. She also performed the role of Young Alyce in RTB's professional premiere of Tom Cipullo's opera Glory Denied and Ariel in Electronic Music New York's (EMNY) Electroacoustic drama, The Tempest Project.

Monica can be heard singing the soprano solos on the critically acclaimed 2007 CD release of McLeer's Requiem. She is the featured soloist on the CD Songs from Another Place, a collection of American chamber works by George Brunner, Bern Herbolsheimer, and Morris Lang. She is also the soprano soloist for the CD Long Island Songs, music by Tom Cipullo, Anne Phillips, George Brunner, and Christian McLeer, both on MSR Classics Record Label. Monica recorded David Buddin's Fabric of this Vision and McLeer's Ariel's World for The Tempest Project CD on POGUS Productions and composers Robert Voisey, Tom Cipullo, and George Brunner feature her on their forthcoming CDs.

This season's performances for Monica include return engagements with Natchez Festival of Music, EMNY and Bechstein Center. In addition, she will be a featured performer for Electronic Music Midwest's, De Vive Voix (France), Stony Brook's Computer Music Concert, and Satori Opera.

Monica is the General Director and co-founder of Remarkable Theater Brigade, producing contemporary operas and concerts in New York City. She has produced and presented the work of living composers since 2002, including more than 15 world premieres for New York audiences.

Monica's professional students are singing with major companies including The Metropolitan Opera Company, New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, plus major companies throughout Europe.
